 My doctoral research project is focused on the Phylogenetics of of Nasa (Loasaceae) and other Loasoids based on both molecular and morphological evidence. I want to provide evidence that will help botanists to answer the following questions:

  1. What are the infrageneric relations between the different taxa within Nasa and between the genera of Loasoideae?
  2. Would it be possible to elucidate the character evolution of a morphologically and ecologically diverse genus like Nasa?
  3. What could a highly resolved phylogeny tell us about the current biogeographical patterns of the genus?
